Why I am a Writer

Hello!

Ever since I was younger, I have had a fascination with creating stories. I would find myself sitting in restaurants with my parents, creating stories about the couple sitting across from us. Eventually, these stories became too confined within my own imagination, and I needed to find a way to release them. It was from there that I started my journey with poetry.

When I entered college, I had the intention of studying Psychology. After three years of intense studying and in-depth research, I experienced a major burnout. So I turned to poetry. It was then that I decided that maybe Psychology wasn't for me and that I wanted to help people through my voice in poetry and not therapy sessions.

In my series of work, I use vivid imagery and sonic elements to explore themes of mental illness and difficult family dynamics. My goal is to touch readers through my voice and to make someone feel less alone through the stories I share.

I hope you enjoy!
